Why do I receive an error when I email my D2L instructor?

You may receive what's called a bounce message or a non-delivery receipt when emailing a D2L instructor or another D2L student. Please consider the following items:

Instructors and students have two distinct emails:

  • username@mscc.edu
  • username@d2l.mscc.edu

​​​​​​​If you are emailing an instructor or student while logged in to your Office 365 email account, please make sure you are emailing username@mscc.edu. Emails sent from Office 365 to a username@d2l.mscc.edu address will not go through and you will receive a bounce message.
