Set Outbound Caller ID

Set your default caller ID in the Zoom web portal. The default caller ID cannot be changed on the Zoom mobile app.

Zoom Web Portal

  1. Log in to the Zoom web portal. 
  2. In the left navigation menu, select Phone.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. In the Outbound Caller ID section, click the drop-down arrow.
  5. Select the number you'd like to display when making an out-going call.
  6. Click Save.

Zoom Desktop App

  1. Open the Zoom app on your desktop.
  2. Select the Phone tab.
  3. On the number pad, click the drop-down arrow.
  4. Select the number you'd like to display when making an out-going call.

 

How to Set Your Caller ID

You can set your Caller ID in the Zoom Desktop app or the Web portal to display the following options:

  1. Your direct number
  2. Campus generic work number
  3. Hide Caller ID (This should not be used because it does not function as a user would expect)
  4. A delegator number (if applicable)

NOTE: The caller ID you set in the Zoom web portal is permanent, and it will update your caller ID in the Zoom desktop client and mobile app. However, setting it in the desktop client or mobile app is temporary: Caller ID returns to match the original settings in the Zoom web portal when you sign out.

Zoom Web Portal

  1. Log in to the Zoom web portal. 
  2. Navigate to the Phone Settings 
  3. Scroll down and click on the Outbound Caller ID drop-down menu. 
  4. Select the Caller ID.
  5. Click Save.

Zoom Desktop App

  1. Launch the Zoom desktop app on your device.
  2. Sign in with SSO.
  3. Navigate to the Phone tab. 
  4. Set your Caller ID from the menu located below the dial pad.

Desk phone

You can set your caller ID for your single-line desk phone from the U-M Zoom web portal. 

Note: Do not set your outbound caller ID using the phone's interface.

  1. Log in to U-M Zoom web portal and navigate to the Phone Settings.
  2. Scroll down to Keys & Positions in the Desk Phone section, and click View or Edit.
  3. Click Manage Key and set your caller ID.
