How to make a Long Distance Call
To make a long-distance phone call, pick up your receiver and wait for a dial tone. Then, dial "9" and the number "1" along with the 3-digit area code and the 7-digit phone number you wish to call. You will hear a long tone; key in your long-distance calling code, then your call will be connected.
Example:
For long-distance, dial: 9-1-555-555-5555 > Long Tone > Enter your long-distance calling code.
To Request a Long distance Calling Code:
- Go to MyMotlow
- Click on Employee Tab
- Go to the bottom of the page and click " Request for Long Distance Calling Code "
- This will take you to the Dynamic Form. Click on “Complete New Form”
- The form will auto-populate with the employee name and A#
- The employee will fill out the date, select Department VP, and work phone number (xxx-xxx-xxx)
- The employee will read over the "Statement of Responsibility", sign, and click submit.
- The Department Vice President will approve and submit it.
- The Vice President for Business and Finance will approve and submit it.
- Business Office will key in the long-distance code, approve and submit
- After all approvals, the employee will receive an email with their long-distance calling code
To use the long-distance calling code, dial 9 to get a dial tone, then 1+xxx-xxx-xxx. You will hear a long tone; key in your long-distance calling code, then your call will be connected.
